Refighting the Mexican War w/ Patrick Swayze
Here is a copy of a video taken from a May 1985 episode of Entertainment Tonight. This ET story is on the reenactors who served as extras on the mini series North and South. In particular on the Mexican War segment of the TV show. Reenactors came to Natchez, MS for almost one week to filming. The end result being only five minutes on screen. Here you see Patrick Swayze and James Read as the principal actors. There are interviews with some of the reenactors, plus scenes of stunt work. At the conclusion of this video. look for a reenactor holding a camera and pointing at something. This is me. Comments are appreciated.

THIS IS NOT A JOKE. Celebrity funeral is a place where fans can go to mourn the deaths of celebrities who have tragically passed on and pay their respects in the form of youtube comments. PLEASE, do not abuse celebrity funeral comments by submitting slander and negative opinions. Celebrity Funerals is a serious place.

And yet another great entertainer falls too soon. Yes, you’ve probably heard this song over the last few days, but as a songwriter I know that the utlimate compliment is other people keeping your music alive after you’re gone. And that is how I prefer to honor Patrick Swayze. “She’s Like the Wind” is a 1987 hit pop/rock song performed by actor Patrick Swayze featuring singer Wendy Fraser. Swayze and Stacy Widelitz co-wrote the song in 1984. During production of Dirty Dancing in 1986, Swayze played the demo for the producers and director. They loved it and passed it on to Jimmy Ienner. It was recorded for the soundtrack in November 1986, with Michael Lloyd producing. The song, like the film in which it was featured, was a success, reaching #3 on Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on Adult Contemporary, and was a hit around the world. The soundtrack album was #1 for 19 weeks.

I thought you’d be taller…. Patrick Swayze has taken off from the dance floor and his hitting the barrooms, the hard way. He plays Dalton, a legendary cooler who is hired to clean up a bar in the south called The Double Deuce. Trading fist for fist with local drunks gets a little to dangerous when he clashes with the towns local tyrant. It’s up to Dalton, and his aging mentor and cooler, Wade Garret, to clean up the town and take care of business. Panned as one of the worst movies ever, it has a strong cult following, and is one of my personal favorite movies that shows what life was like back in the 80’s. To the disclaimers, I do not own anything related to this movie.
